FORSYTH GOES FROM BLUE TO BLACK

Last time we looked, Hank Forsyth was GM of Blue Note, working alongside top dog Don Was. But Forsyth is one the move, taking the job of COO at NYC-based Blackbird Production Partners, a specialized outfit best known for producing tribute concerts for, among others, Jerry Garcia, Gregg Allman, Levon Helm, Mavis Staples, Emmylou Harris and the Neville Brothers. Getting Forsyth, who’ll report to Blackbird CEO Keith Wortman, is big for the expanding company.

Wortman describes his new hire as “a master at creating and implementing business strategies that drive valuable growth,” while Forsyth can’t wait” to help create unique experiences that can be shared with audiences around the world."

His first order of business: pitching a Was/Not Was tribute show.
