Drake kicked off his partnership with Apple Music in a powerful way this weekend with a pile of exclusives — the insanely cool music video for "Energy," an interview with Zane Lowe where he debuted a new single with Majid Jordan plus the launch of his own Beats 1 Radio show, OVO SOUND.
The "Energy" video, which recalls Michael Jackson's epic "Black or White," features flawless CGI that has Drake morphing into everyone from Justin Bieber to Miley Cyrus and Oprah, Kanye, Ken Doll, and Lebron James. The video, directed by Fleur & Manu, is an Apple Music exclusive, of course.
Saturday's inaugural episode of the OVO SOUND Beats 1 radio show offered a real glimpse inside this tight-knit Toronto crew. Assisted by OVO co-founder Oliver El-Khatib and PRIME producer Eric Dingus, Drizzy delivered a solid two-hour show—during which he debuted three more new records while discussing ongoing recording for the hotly anticipated Views From The Six.
"That's one of the joys we get out of life you know, myself and Oliver, we play each other music," he said as he kicked off his show, "we always wanna bring it from our heart directly where you're at."
