OBSERVER'S L.A. POWER 25: THE MUSIC GUYS

Michael Rapino and Lucian Grainge represent for the biz on the Observer's latest L.A. Power 25.

The Live Nation chief is hailed as a "visionary" who "has utterly dominated the live music space"; his inaugural Live Nation Awards, due 10/1, gets a shout-out.

UMG topper Grainge, meanwhile, in addition to his lordly marketshare, gets props as an "evangelist" for paid streaming.

Non-music luminaries on the list include Steven Spielberg, Casey Wasserman, Jeffrey Katzenberg, Eli Broad, Brangelina, Ellen DeGeneres, Elon Musk, Marvel chief Kevin Feige, Shonda Rhimes, Magic Johnson, J.J. Abrams, L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti and a panoply of movie-studio heads and agency peeps. You can see the whole list here.
