KING IS QUEEN

Last night, buzzing newcomer Elle King — seen left with HITS' Samantha Hissong— played a rapturous set at the sold-out Troubadour.

RCA's spitfire knocked it out of the park on "Last Damn Night," single "Ex's & Oh's," "Ain't Gonna Drown" and "America's Sweetheart" — all off her debut album, Love Stuff — along with a truly wonderful cover of The Beatles' "Oh! Darling" and a rather cheeky one of Khia's "My Neck, My Back." Her vivacious energy set the room on fire, painting her as a real rock star as she wailed, thrashed and took swigs of an onstage bottle of Jameson.

Biz players spotted head-banging in the crowd included RCA's Wendy Goodman, Mika El-Baz, Katie Wellie, Jamie Abzug, Danny Cooper, Mike Boccuzzi, Krista Switzer, Nick Light, Tim Reynolds and Allison Harper, Westwood One's Jason Bowers, iHeartRadio's Miro Sarkissian, Westwood One's Jason Bowers, DWTS' Steven Schillachi and Conan's Jim Pitt.

Love Stuff is currently discounted at $5.99 on iTunes as a part of their "Summer's Biggest Albums Sale," while it sits at #10 on their Alternative chart.

Meanwhile, "Ex's & Oh's" (below) is #6 on their Alt singles chart. It's also currently #1 at Triple A radio, Top 10 at Alt and crossing to Hot AC.

Reminiscent of a Wanda Jackson/Amy Winehouse hybrid, and recently named a VH1 You Oughta Know artist, Elle King is certainly starting to make a bold name for herself.
