LIPMANS HONORED BY UJA: L'CHAIM!

As you probably know, Republic's Monte and Avery Lipman were honored with the 2015 Music Visionary Award during yesterday's UJA-Federation of New York luncheon at NYC's The Pierre.

The event raised more than $1 million to support UJA-Federation's work (through a network of more than 100 agencies).

There were testimonials from UMG topper Lucian Grainge (via video), Glassnote's Daniel Glass (a Vice-Chair of the Federation's Entertainment, Media & Communications Executive Committee), artist The Weeknd (who also performed) and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee John Mellencamp. An arry of industry luminaries cheered and noshed.

Mazels all around: Attorney Fred Davis, Avery Lipman, Daniel Glass, RIAA exec (and former honoree) Cary Sherman,
NARAS chief Neil Portnow, Monte Lipman and Sony/ATV co-prez Rick Krim dream of a bialy with a schmear.

“The money raised today will help those less fortunate, which is near and dear to our hearts,” Monte noted in his remarks, underscoring how the difficulties of the brothers' youth informed their outlook, namely: "Not accepting given circumstances, becoming resourceful, and that it’s okay to ask for help."

Grainge praised the brothers as "loyal, entrepreneurial, driven and focused, with incredible career achievements." Glass hailed them as "an example for our whole community."

The Weeknd performed his smashes "Can't Feel My Face" and "Earned It."

The commemorative journal for the event was so big it was divided into two parts, which you can view here and here.
