A HERO AMONG US

Russell Doussan, President of Live Nation New Orleans, has been included as one of 55 execs selected for Forbes' second annual Heroes of the 500 list.

The list honors employees of Fortune 500 companies whose "extraordinary acts of bravery, kindness and selflessness are changing people’s lives."

In 2011, Doussan, along with his wife Ashley, founded Hartley's Hearts Foundation after their daughter, Hartley, was born with two holes in her heart. The couple created the charity to help others suffering from the same fate.

That October, Doussan flew with a team of doctors to Asuncion, Paraguay, with a goal to fix as many children’s heart defects as they could. In one trip, they performed nine open-heart surgeries and 25 other less invasive procedures. They plan to return twice this year.

In the four years since its inception, the organization has donated more than $400k in medical equipment.

"Please join me in congratulating Russell Doussan," Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino announced today. "He has been selected as one of the heroes who work at Fortune 500 companies... We are proud to have him as part of our company."
