The inaugural Live Nation Music Awards will be held on Oct. 1 and simulcast that night by TNT and TBS. LN will mount the event in collaboration with IMG and dick clark productions. Executive producers are Michael Rapino, IMG Chief Content Officer Mark Shapiro, dcp CEO Allen Shapiro and dcp President Michael Mahan.
Turner’s David Eilenberg made an excellent point when he noted, “With all the honors given to recorded music, it’s great to finally see awards created for live performances.”
Said Rapino, “Live Nation is dedicated to bringing artists and fans together for life-long memories, and we are honored to take part in recognizing the talent who bring those experiences to life. I’m looking forward to banging a cowbell during the all-star jam at the end of the show.”
