As David Letterman prepares to drop the final curtain on his Late Show, you can expect a smorgasbord of high-profile guests, including none other than Anti's legendary eccentric Tom Waits. Waits, known for his reclusive nature, is set for both an interview and a performance, marking his first time on stage in nearly two years.
The remaining guests scheduled for this week are listed below. After 22 years, the comedic icon and television staple's final show is set to air 5/20 at 11:35pm ET on CBS.
Tuesday, 5/12: Former president Bill Clinton, Adam Sandler
Wednesday, 5/13: Julia Roberts, Paul Shaffer, Ryan Adams
Thursday, 5/14: George Clooney, Tom Waits
Friday, 5/15: Oprah Winfrey, Norm Macdonald
Out of respect, Jimmy Kimmel will not air a new episode during Letterman's last one. “I have too much respect for Dave to do anything that would distract viewers from watching his final show,” Kimmel told the N.Y. Times. “Plus, I’ll probably be crying all day, which makes it hard to work.” Us too, Jimmy.
For now, watch Columbia's First Aid Kit perform Simon & Garfunkel's "America" on last Thursday's episode below. The song starts at 1:45.
