LIVE NATION Q1 EARNINGS: UP,
UP & AWAY

The concert colossus’ Q1 revenue rose 4% at constant currency during the quarter ending 3/31. Here are more highlights, served up in fat-free bite-sized morsels.

Q1 Stats:

  • Ticketmaster global transactions gained 8%, while resale transactions were up 75%.
  • Mobile ticket sales were up 35%, while app installs jumped 43% to 17m.
  • Event-related deferred revenue rose 4% to $919m.
  • Contracted sponsorship and advertising net revenue increased 17%.

Other Stats:

  • Overall ticket sales are up 4% thru 4/24.
  • LN expects to promote around 20 of the top 25 global tours in 2015
  • With the just-announced Bonnaroo partnership, Michael Rapino and co. now have four of the top five U.S. festivals.

The cheery facts and figures were accompanied by a commensurately upbeat big-picture projection: “[F]our months into the year, we now have enough data from leading indicators to be confident that we remain on track to deliver our 2015 plan, with continued top- and bottom-line growth as we build global marketshare in our core concerts, advertising and ticketing businesses.”
