Pandora’s THUMB Moments program uses the app’s “thumbs up” feature to connect fans to artists, and the numbers they’ve generated are also rating a thumbs-up.
This week Pandora begins its campaign on behalf of SYCO/Hollywood’s Bea Miller. When visitors clicked the thumb icon to recommend the X Factor alumna and 2015 MTV Artist to Watch, they were sent directly to a live chat/performance. Check it out here:
The most recent prior campaign was for DCD2/Island’s Fall Out Boy; when users gave new single “Uma Thurman” a thumbs-up rating they were instantly connected with an “ask me anything” live video chat with the band.
In its first month, the campaign generated more than 365 million impressions and 40m+ views—and upped FOB station adds (+13%), unique listeners (+8%) and listening hours (+4%) on Pandora.
Prior THUMB Moments initiatives were conducted on behalf of Lindsey Stirling, BUSH and Nick Jonas, among others; since its inception last year, the program has generated 802m+ impressions and driven in excess of 164m video views.
Pandora’s Lars Murray was going to send us a photo but his thumb was over the lens.
