TIDAL DISTRIBUTION FEE: APP-REHENSIONS

30% App-Store Fees Passed on to Users

Noters noting that the much-discussed Tidal streaming service launched recently by Jay Z and a coterie of fellow stars costs more via the iTunes App Store and other mobile app outlets, with the 30% distribution fee charged by Apple et al passed directly to consumers ($12.99 rather than $9.99 for the basic subscription).

Will streaming customers accept the added cost for the convenience of mobile purchase? It remains to be seen. But currently Tidal doesn't appear on the iTunes chart of Top 200 paid apps.
