Industry Loses Veteran John Loscalzo

Music industry veteran John Loscalzo passed away Wednesday; he was 52.

Most recently Director of Music for CBS Local, Loscalzo was best known as an on-air talent at WPDH, WRCN, KROQ, WDRE and WXRK (K-Rock), where he eventually rose to Operations Manager.

He handled Alternative and Metal promotion for MCA Records in Los Angeles, worked in Rock programming for Sony Worldwide Networks and in 2001 joined Viacom and MTV Networks where he worked for nine years until seguing to CBS in 2012.

He's survived by his wife, Tracy Zamot (who is Director of Artist and Music Industry Communications at Pandora), and their baby daughter, Gracie, 4.

A memorial will take place on Wednesday, 4/8, from 7-9 pm at Scotto's Funeral Home, 106 1st Place (at Court Street), Brooklyn, NY 11231. Prayers and remarks are scheduled for 8 pm, visitors are welcome to bring any pictures and stories they would like to share.
