BIG CHANGES IN
MUSIC CITY

Sony Music announced this morning that, by mutual agreement, Gary Overton will leave his job as Chairman of Sony Music Nashville on March 31. Capable and well-liked, Gary O had been playing from behind since UMG’s 2013 acquisition of EMI, putting two of Nashville’s Big Three under one roof.

“Working at Sony Music has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career,” Overton said in a statement. “I will deeply miss the talented team at SMN, but I am also excited about starting the next chapter of my career. I want to thank the amazing staff for their tireless commitment to supporting our incredible artists.”
