Drake is back on top of the iTunes album chart and showing zero signs of slowing down, while Kelly Clarkson drops to #2. On the strength of several big singles, the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack sticks in the Top 3.
Giant ratings on Fox's hip-hop soap Empire are finally starting to move the needle in sales, as the preorder Season 1 ST debuts at #4. That's one of two preorders in the top ten: Mumford & Sons' May release of Wilder Mind is at #9. Taylor Swift, Brandi Carlile, Ed Sheeran and Hozier round out the Top Ten.
On the singles side, The Ronson-Mars "Uptown Funk" express continues its incredible reign at #1, while Ellie Goulding, Ed Sheeran and the trinity of Rihanna/Kanye/McCartney follow. A song from the most recent episode of Empire, Conqueror," featuring Estelle (who also wrote it) and cast member Jussie Smollett, completes the Top 5.
