The Action on Next Week's Top 40, Rhythm and Alternative Charts

Missed ya, Buddy! While you're home thinking about all the free liquor being consumed at the Grammy Parties this weekend, check the action at three key Mediabase formats this week...

TOP 40

For three weeks in a row, RCA's Mark Ronson f/Bruno Mars "Uptown Funk" sits firmly in the #1 position. Epic's Meghan Trainor moves Top 5 and looks aimed for the top of the chart. Two joining the Top 10 this week are Pitbull /f NeYo "Time of Our Lives" and Taylor Swift "(Big Machine/Republic). And Republic has two more artists joining the chart this week, Jessie J "Masterpiece" and Nicki Minaj f/Drake "Truffle Butter."

RHYTHM

Another stellar week for RCA as they flip flop #1's: Usher's "I Don't Mind" will bow to Mark Ronson "Uptown Funk", plus the RCA team also have Pitbull "Time Of Our Lives" f/ Ne-Yo moving inside the top 5 and Chris Brown & Tyga "Ayo" climbing to the top 10.  Columbia's Beyoncé continues to ascend inside the top 10 as well and Republic will see impressive spin gains on three of their records: Nicki Minaj "Truffle Butter" f/ Drake and Lil Wayne, Natalie La Rose "Somebody" and The Weeknd,'s "Earned It". Def Jam has Rihanna "FourFiveSeconds" f Kanye West and Paul McCartney vaulting up the chart, while the Kanye ballad "Only One" inches closer to the top 25.

ALTERNATIVE

Cage The Elephant's (RCA) "Cigarette Daydreams" gets one more week at #1, but look for labelmates Walk The Moon, currently sitting at #2,  to take over the top spot next with "Shut Up And Dance." RCA's Bleachers and Modest Mouse (Epic) are in a too-close-to-call battle for Top 5 honors on Monday.  Robert DeLong (Glassnote) currently at #11 with "Long Way Down," is having an exceptional week of spins and should move into the Top 10. "Hollow Moon (Bad Wolf)" by Red Bull's AWOLNATION is up an impressive 350x moves 21*- 15*. Joywave "Somebody New" (Hollywood) is also having a nice week of spin increases, up over 100x and climbing to #23!  Offspring's "Coming For You" (Time Bomb) will have a strong debut at #32. Epic's Kongos will make it's chart debut on Monday with "I Want To Know." Yesterday, Republic debuted the new single from Incubus, "Absolution Calling"--look for that one to have a strong debut next week.
