The Action on Next Week's Top 40, Rhythm and Alternative Charts

Hey Buddy! While you're powering through four full days of music scheduling on Selector to have a day off for the Super Bowl, here's how these key Mediabase formats are shaping up this week...

TOP 40

RCA’s Mark Ronson "Uptown Funk" f/Bruno Mars stays at #1 and is one of this week's Greatest Gainers, however the Greatest Gainer overall is Rihanna, Kanye West, and Paul McCartney "FourFiveSeconds", (Def Jam) with a whopping 3500+ spins landing it inside the Top 25 and climbing fast.  Columbia's Hozier "Take Me To Church" moves to #3 while Epic's Meghan Trainor "Lips Are Moving" climbs to #7.  Taylor Swift"Style" (Republic) moves inside the Top 15 and newly hitting the chart this week is Republic labelmate Jessie J with "Masterpiece".

RHYTHM

Usher and Juicy J hold at #1 for another week with "I Don't Mind" (RCA) while Ne-Yo "She Knows" (Motown/Capitol) and Mark Ronson "Uptown Funk" f/ Bruno Mars (RCA) will be battling for that spot next week. Republic's Nick Jonas "Jealous" ascends to top 5, while Chris Brown & Tyga "Ayo" creeps into the top 15.  Nicki Minaj has a breakout hit with “Truffle Butter,” which will be up nearly 500 spins, and Natalie La Rose "Somebody" f/Jeremih adds over 400 spins this week. Def Jam's got a one-two punch as Rihanna "FourFiveSeconds" f/Kanye and Paul McCartney will debut with over a 1000+ spin increase, and Kanye’s "Only One" will be up 300 spins. Other debuts include The Weeknd "Earned It" (Republic) and RCA's Kid Ink, with "Hotel" f/ Chris Brown.

ALTERNATIVE

It's all about Cage The Elephant's (RCA) "Cigarette Daydreams" which lands a third week at #1, staying just ahead of Arctic Monkeys "R U Mine."  Walk The Moon's "Shut Up And Dance" (RCA) inches closer to #3 while powering towards being the next #1.  The buzz cut is AWOLNATION's (Red Bull) "Hollow Moon (Bad Wolf)," which is having a banner first week of airplay and will debut right around #20 along with Death Cab For Cutie's "Black Sun."
