OPENING TIME

Dan Wilson
has launched A Song Can Be About Anything Music, a co-venture with Big Deal Music. His first signing is Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter Jenny Owen Youngs, whose songs have been heard on numerous TV shows including Weeds, Nurse Jackie, Suburgatory and Switched at Birth. “I’ve learned my craft from some of the most brilliant songwriters, artists and producers ever,” Dan explains. “Doing sessions with so many masters has been an incredible education for me. I want to help young writers and artists get similar opportunities, bring their songwriting chops up to the highest level, and help them create amazing music and successful careers.” Big Deal’s Kenny MacPherson is all about the concept, enthusing, “To be able to identify and develop talent with Dan as a creative partner is beyond exciting for everyone at Big Deal Music.” The name of the JV comes from a track on Wilson’s latest album, Love Without Fear, and an exceptional piece of work at that. Take a listen.
