MGMT BACK IN ACTION: Columbia Records Best New Artist nominees MGMT release Congratulations, the follow-up to their 2008 debut, Oracular Spectacular, on April 13. The album, co-produced by Spacemen 3 producer Sonic Boom (Pete Kember), includes nine new songs “sequenced to flow with sonic and thematic coherence”: “It’s Working,” “Song for Dan Treacy,” “Someone’s Missing,” “Flash Delirium,” “I Found a Whistle,” “Siberian Breaks,” “Brian Eno,” “Lady Dada’s Nightmare” and the title track. Royal Trux front-woman Jennifer Herrema contributed guest vocals to the band’s core due, Andrew Vanwyngarden and Ben Goldwasser. (2/9a)
