MTV up 18%

JERSEY NETS VIEWERS: Viacom reported yesterday that its Q1 profit quadrupled from a year earlier, with resurgent MTV leading the way. The turnaround was propelled largely by the cable power’s latest batch of reality shows, led by the hit series Jersey Shore. Through Feb. 7, MTV's overall viewership is up 18% from the same period last year, according to Nielsen. (2/12a)
