EMI selling Abbey Road

WHY DON’T THEY DO IT IN THE ROAD? EMI and Terra Firma have come up with one concrete idea for raising some dough—by selling off a major part of the record company’s history. Abbey Road Studios, which remains a world-renowned and extremely active recording facility four decades after the Beatles made it famous. The sale will bring cash-strapped EMI several million pounds, but not nearly enough to cover the next payment to Citigroup in March. (2/16a)
