EMI SEEKS ABBEY ROAD PARTNER: Responding to reports that they are putting the fabled Abbey Road Studios on the block, EMI Music announced support for English Heritage’s plans to list the famed studio as a historical landmark. The company confirmed it is holding preliminary discussions for the revitalization of the studio with “interested third parties,” interested in a “substantial injection of new capital.” The plans have focused on “providing access to artists and, where possible, members of the public.” An EMI spokesperson revealed it received an offer to buy Abbey Road for “in excess of 30 million,” but rejected it,  “since we believe [it] should remain in EMI's ownership."
