YOU CAN’T DO THAT: Abbey Road played host Thursday night to a charity event featuring Robert Plant with the London Oriana Choir, David Gray, Newton Faulkner, Beth Nielsen Chapman and Sir George Martin, who has spent some time at the studio over the years. The producer said he was happy that Abbey Road was set to be given listed status as a historic site after public outcry against the news that EMI was considering putting the hallowed facility up for sale. “That would have been over my dead body,” Martin told the audience.
