eMusic Sells Hendrix

E FOR EFFORT: Emusic claimed close to 10% of digital sales for the company's first-ever day/date release from a major, Sony's Experience Hendrix/Legacy Jimi Hendrix album, Valleys of Neptune. Emusic has previously had those kinds of numbers on indie releases, but never on an album from the Big Four, as the industry looks to challenge iTunes' hegemony in the online sphere. (3/17p)
