BMG/KKR Eyeing Cherry Lane?

BERTIE’S BACK? Are our good friends in Gutersloh planning a re-entry into the music business? BMG Rights Management, the music publishing company formed by Bertelsmann and private equity group KKR, has been kicking the tires on several properties, including EMI Music Publishing, in the event Citigroup breaks it up and sells it in pieces. Now comes word they’ve made a reported $150 million bid on Cherry Lane Publishing, a price at least some think is pretty exorbitant. (3/19p)
