EMI-Sony Back On?

EMI-SONY TALKS BACK ON? Sony Music is now reportedly back at the table in discussions with EMI for distribution of its back catalog in North and South America, according to a report in the U.K. Guardian this morning. Talks are allegedly ongoing between Sony finance director Kevin Kelleher and EMI Chairman Charles Allen to put together the outline for an agreement over the next few weeks. Meanehile, rumors continue to circulate Citigroup is lining up a sale of EMI’s Recorded Music division to Warner Music and its publishing to a coalition including Bertelsmann and private equity firm KKR for its music publisihing division if the mid-June debt covenant deadline is breached.
