COACHELLA CANCELLATIONS: At least two bands have cancelled their appearances at this weekend’s Coachella Music & Arts Festival as a result of U.K. airspace being shut down due to ash caused by the volcano in Iceland. Scottish band Frightened Rabbit was forced to bow out of their 2:45 p.m. set tomorrow, while Bad Lieutenant, the band featuring New Order’s Bernard Sumner and Stephen Morris, will also be unable to go on as scheduled tomorrow. Having just released their new album, The Winter of Mixed Drinks, Coachella was to serve as Frightened Rabbit's kick off to their North American tour, which is expected to begin Monday (4/19) in Tempe, AZ. The ash has forced the closure of the three busiest airports in Europe: Heathrow in London, Frankfurt in Germany and Charles de Gaulle in Paris. (4/16p)
