THIS MORNING’S COFFEE READING: “OK, I admit it,” writes the L.A. Times’ Patrick Goldstein in his latest Big Picture column (or is it a blog? Or both?). “As much as I love show business, when it comes to guilty pleasures, there's really nothing so marvelous as a showbiz feud.” Pat then bites into the latest juicy iteration of the classic dustup, pitting rock star Axl Rose against mogul Irving Azoff, his former manager, whom Axl accuses in a lawsuit of trying to strong-arm into a reunion of the original Guns N’ Roses lineup, and, when Rose refused, of attempting to sabotage the Chinese Democracy album. It isn’t just the news, it’s the way Goldstein plays with it, that makes this piece a must-read. (5/19a)
