FEELING BYRNED: Ex-Talking Head David Byrne is suing Florida Governor Charlie Crist for using the band’s 1985 single, “Road to Nowhere,” in his senatorial campaign without licensing. Byrne seeks $1 million in damages after the song appeared on the politician’s web site and a YouTube ad attacking his then-primary opponent, Marco Rubio. Crist is now running as an independent candidate. The suit, filed in federal court in Tampa, “is not about politics... [but] copyright and the fact that it does imply that I would have licensed it and endorsed him and whatever he stands for," according to Byrne. (5/25a)
