Rotter Upped at UMD

SOMETHING ROTTER AT UMD: Mitch Rotter is upped to SVP Marketing and Product Development for Universal Music Distribution by EVP/GM Amanda Marks, to whom he’ll report. Rotter was formerly VP Marketing for the company. He’ll add the development of new products, services, marketing tools and systems to his existing responsibilities, which include oversight of central marketing support for all products. Prior to joining UMD, Rotter was SVP Content Acquisition and Strategy for Thumbplay, where he oversaw content, merchandising and storefront strategy. He was also SVP Music Development and Soundtracks for New Line Cinema before that, launching the studio’s New Line Records label. He has also held posts at Capitol Records and American Recordings, where he picked the lint out of Rick Rubin’s beard. (6/14a)
