APPLE A DAY: Apple has sold a total of 1.7 million iPhone 4s, including pre-orders, through last Saturday (6/26). The new iteration is available, in addition to Apple and AT&T physical and online stores, at Best Buy, Radio Shack and Wal-Mart. The device is also being sold in the U.K., France, Germany and Japan, with 18 more countries added by the end of July. Steve Jobs called it "the most successful product launch in Apple’s history.” Of course, there have been shortages, as well as glitches connected to the antennae and “Retina” screen display. Apple is already working on a software patch to correct a reception problem. (6/29a)
