Emmy noms: Glee gets 19, Nurse Jackie 8

EMMY REVELATIONS: We learned something early this morning—that Nurse Jackie is a comedy…according to the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, at least. The sometimes hilarious, more often disturbing Showtime series, a second straight triumph for Edie Falco, picked up eight Emmy nominations this morning, including one for Best Comedy Series. It's up against Glee, which received a stunning 19. The other comedy nominees are standbys 30 Rock, Curb Your Enthusiasm and The Office and newcomer Modern Family, while noms for Best Dramatic Series are Breaking Bad, Dexter, Lost, Mad Men and True Blood. In another noteworthy occurrence, the short-lived, cause celebre The Tonight Show With Conan O'Brien scored a nom for Best Comedy and Variety Series; The Tonight Show With Jay Leno did not. The 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards will air on NBC Aug. 29 live from the Nokia Theatre. (7/8a)
