BMG Acquires Stage Three

BMG ENTERS STAGE THREE: BMG Rights Management added to its portfolio by acquiring the London-based music publisher Stage Three, headed by ex-Virgin and Chrysalis U.K. CEO Steve Lewis, with offices in L.A. and Nashville run by former Island, PolyGram and Maverick pub exec Lionel Conway. The roster includes compositions performed by Aerosmith, Duffy, The Eagles, Eminem, Eric Clapton, Rascal Flatts and ZZ Top, including “Walk This Way,” “Gimme All Your Lovin’,” “Baker Street” and “Dream On,” among others. The move follows the acquisitions of Cherry Lane and Adage IV earlier this year by the joint venture of Bertelsmann and equity firm Kohlberg, Kravis Roberts. (7/15p)
