Todd signs to Gigatone

CAN WE STILL BE FANS? Musical and technological innovator Todd Rundgren has signed with Gigatone Entertainment. For his first release under the deal, Rundgren will record a 15-track album of new material and invite fans to participate in the project via Gigatone's myRecordFantasy camp. During the three-day event, held at the Track Shack Studios in Sacramento, where the label is based, a number of presumably hard-core fans will witness the artist/producer at work and get the opportunity to perform on the album. Said Gigatone CEO Mitchell Koulouris, "Signing such an accomplished superstar as Todd shows that our new approach towards music creation and its acceptance by artists and fans is changing the market." In related news, Paul Myers’ A Wizard, a True Star: Todd Rundgren in the Studio will be published Oct. 1 by Jawbone Press. (7/21a)
