Univision Pays $1 Million Fine

EL QUESO GRANDE VUELVE: Univision Radio has reportedly settled the “pay-for-play” probe jointly conducted by the Dept. of Justice and the FCC by agreeing to pay a $1 million penalty. A federal court has accepted a plea from the radio group to criminal charges over the same charges. The settlement comes after allegations several Univision employees accepted payola from a number of record labels. The radio group also agreed to take several additional precautionary measures to prevent future transgressions. (7/26p)
