G-Unit Moves to EMI

EMI NABS G-UNIT: Leading hip-hop label G-Unit Records, originally launched by 50 Cent for his related projects, has ankled its longtime home at Interscope Records to enter an exclusive agreement with EMI Label Services in North America. EMI will release Grammy-nominated multi-platinum rapper Lloyd Banks’ third solo album H.F.M. 2 (Hunger For More 2) on Nov. 23, and Tony Yayo’s as-yet untitled sophomore album early next year. Banks’ album includes the single “Beamer, Benz, or Bentley,” featuring Juelz Santana, which has already generated more than 500k paid downloads. EMI Label Services’ team will begin promoting a second track, “Any Girl,” at Urban and Rhythmic radio formats this month. Yayo’s album, slated for release in 2011, includes the single, “Pass the Patron,” featuring 50 Cent, who will apparently remain on Interscope. (8/13p)
