MAD MEN: The Emmys rocked Sunday night on NBC, thanks in large part to host Jimmy Fallon’s remarkable musical mimicry—during the show he did spot-on impressions of Bruce, Elton and Billie Joe Armstrong. Also bringing plenty of rock cool were winners Edie Falco, Bryan Cranston, Al Pacino, Aaron Paul and Kyra Sedgewick, while Ricky Gervais brought some edge to show with his monologue, as usual. Referencing Mel Gibson in a list of "scary" actors, he said, "I won't have a go at Mel. He's been through a lot." After a pause. He added, "Not as much as the Jews, to be fair." Gervaiz also riffed salaciously about the name of variety show best director winner Bucky Guntz, turning it into the punchline of the night. (8/30a)
