CMA noms

A LOT MORE COUNTRY: Miranda Lambert racked up nine nominations to lead the list of CMA Awards nominees, followed by Lady Antebellum with five, while the Zac Brown got four. But Lambert can’t possibly win 'em all since she’s up against herself twice: "The House That Built Me" and "White Liar" are both up for Single of the Year and Video of the Year. "White Liar," which she co-wrote, also snagged a nom for Song of the Year, pitting it against "The House That Built Me" in a third category, but that doesn’t count as one of Lambert’s noms because she had no hand in writing it. The other nominated songs are "Need You Now, co-written by Lady A; "Toes," co-written by Zac Brown; and "A Little More Country Than That," recorded but not written by Easton Corbin. Lady A and the Zac Brown Band are up for Vocal Group of the Year against Little Big Town, Rascal Flatts and The Band Perry. “Need You Now” will battle “Toes,” "A Little More Country Than That" and the Blake Shelton-Trace Adkins duet "Hillbilly Bone" for Single of the Year. And Brown’s group has also received a New Artist nod, along with Corbin, Luke Bryan, Jerrod Niemann and Chris Young. Oh yeah, contending for Album of the Year are Lady A, Lambert, Carrie Underwood’s Play On, George Strait’s Twang and Dierks Bentley’s Up on the Ridge. (9/1a)
