MTV Ratings Up

MTV’S SUMMER SURGE: Thanks to Snooki and the gang, who have the summer’s #1 series across cable and broadcast, MTV’s Q3 ratings are up over last year, while ratings for June through August were up 16% over the same period in 2009, as the network boasts four of the 10 top-rated original cable series. Jersey Shore hit a new series high with 5.8 million total viewers, while new franchise Teen Mom is the third most-watched (P12-34) original cable series of the summer, achieving a current season high rating of 3.4 (12-34). New docu-series If You Really Knew Me debuted to 1.8 million total viewers and scripted comedy series The Hard Times of RJ Berger grew its audience by 30% over the course of its run, culminating with a season-high rating of 1.3 (P12-34).
