Sony vs. iTunes

SONY GOES AFTER ITUNES: Get ready for Sony Connect 2.0. The company announced a new digital-music service to compete with Apple’s iTunes for Internet-connected Sony TVs, Blu-ray disc players and PlayStation, among others. The new music service, dubbed Music Unlimited, allows consumers to stream millions of songs. The site will by powered by Qriocity, Sony's common platform for delivering digital content to Internet-connected devices. The service allows users to stream from a library of music, where Apple sells music on a per title or album basis. It’s slated to launch before the end of the year…unfortuntately, about 10 years too late. (9/5p)
