Roseanne Cash gets AMA award

CASH & CARRY: Rosanne Cash’s 2009 covers collection The List (Manhattan/EMI) was awarded Album of the Year at the Americana Music Association’s annual Honors & Awards Show last night at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium. She performed the Bobbie Gentry classic “Ode to Billie Joe” and presented John Mellencamp with the Lifetime Award for Songwriting. Also on hand for the shindig were Emmylou Harris, Robert Plant, Jack White, Lucinda Williams, Mary Chapin Carpenter and other core artists of the genre and format. Cash has several upcoming appearances scheduled, including an interview and performance on CBSThe Early Show on Sept. 18, Craig Ferguson on Oct. 4 and “An Evening With Rosanne Cash At The Grammy Museum” on Oct. 5. Can we get a refined “yee-haw”? (9/10a)
