STERN RETURN? Rumors of Howard Stern’s retirement from the airwaves are apparently exaggerated. Sirius XM boss Mel Karmazin told attendees at a media conference he is “very confident” that the company will sign the media powerhouse to a new deal when his five-year contract is up this December. Karmazin reportedly called Stern “a fabulous partner” who “has enabled companies to make a lot of money,” though he did add that subscribers “may have come for him…but they listen to other channels.” Stern has stopped talking about his situation on-air, though he previously expressed disappointment in the negotiations. Darrelle Revis anyone? (9/15p)
