Idol Hands on Deck

IDOL HANDS ON DECK: In perhaps the worst-kept secret in show business, Fox officially introduced Steve Tyler and Jennifer Lopez as judges for its upcoming 10th season, joining original panelist Randy Jackson. The announcement was made this morning in a brief ceremony hosted by Ryan Seacrest at the Forum in Inglewood. In addition, record executive/producer Jimmy Iovine will serve as in-house mentor to the contestants in a somewhat analogous role to the departed Simon Cowell. Is this the final line-up or could another top-level label exec also be in the mix? Lopez’s Idol gig is part of a reported $12 million deal that includes a first-look agreement for her Nuyorican Productions with Twentieth Century Fox Films and Fox Broadcasting Co. (9/22p)
