Pandora's Box

PANDORA’S BOX: During his keynote discussion at the Future of Music Coalition Policy Summit in Washington, DC, yesterday, Pandora founder Tim Westergren announced the service now boasts a registered user base of 65 million, up from just 60 million in late-July, an 8% gain in a little over two months. Westergren claimed Pandora had 25 million users over September, with sessions totaling 11 hours. Edison Research recently estimated that one in five radio listeners in the 12-24 demo had listened to Pandora over the last month, as Westergren then told interviewer Kara Swisher he believes in an advertising, rather than subscription, model.
