TRIBUNE HOUSECLEANING: Media reports are insisting that the Tribune Company board of directors will ask for the resignation of its controversial chief executive, former Clear Channel boss Randy Michaels. The source claims the board has “lost confidence” in Michaels’ ability to lead the troubled company just a week after a N.Y. Times article outlined the Animal House-like hijinks going on at the media conglom. Michaels' resignation would follow by days the exit of Lee Abrams, Tribune’s Chief Innovation Officer, who stepped down last week after sending a sexually explicit Onion video out to the entire company. And while board chairman Sam Zell is fighting the ouster, the expected move should hasten the exit of Michaels’ people, including Marc Chase, Sean Compton, Jeff Kapugi and Carolyn Gilbert, among others.
