Garland on LimeWire's penetration

P2P TKO:
Following the order from a federal judge to once-dominant P2P service LimeWire that it immediately shut down its file-sharing app (see item below), BigChampagne’s Eric Garland told All Things D’s Peter Kafka. That LimeWire’s client has been downloaded “hundreds of millions” of times, and is still responsible for the “vast majority” of usage on the Gnutella trading network. LimeWire, which faces hearings on damages after losing a copyright infringement case, is trying to get its relatively new, legal music service off the ground. Good luck with that, George. (10/27a)
