Stevenson Exits Virgin

STEVENSON NO LONGER A VIRGIN: Veteran label exec Rob Stevenson, who was named to the top creative post at Virgin Records in the first move made by EMI President A&R Nick Gatfield on assuming his post in July 2006, has left the company. Stevenson was formerly EVP A&R at Island Def Jam, where his signings included Fall Out Boy, The Killers, The Bravery, Sum 41, Saliva and Thrice. During this time, he was also President of Stolen Transmission, his joint venture imprint with IDJ. While at Virgin, his signings included Alice in Chains and, most recently, Good Charlotte. Stevenson held a variety of senior A&R positions at UMG, including VP A&R at Island from 2002 to 2006, following two years as Director in the department. He joined Mercury as an A&R Manager in 1998. Stevenson began his career at ad agency Ogilvy and Mather. (11/3p)
