THE PROPHET: As jurors watched Eric Nicoli’s videotaped testimony last week, they were read a March 2007 email in which the then-EMI head alerted colleagues that any more profit warnings could “hand the business to the banks to dispose of as they see fit.” When the lawyer questioning him asked, “Are you familiar with the term ‘profit warning’?” a rueful smile spread across Nicoli’s face, magnified on the screen, FT.com colorfully reported.
