Viveni Universal Q3 Earnings

UMG QUARTERED: Universal Music Group’s Q3 revenue was up 6% to $1.39 billion compared to the same quarter last year, with EBITA up 47% to $116 million. For the nine months ended in Sept., revenue was flat at $3.99 billion, a slight 1.7% drop, though digital sales increased 18.5% for the first nine months. UMG’s EBITA for the period was $332 million, a 9.3% decline from last year. Overall, Vivendi nine-month revenues were $28.4 billion, an increase of 6.9% compared to the same period last year, thanks to a 10% EBITA gain by Activision Blizzard to $6.4 billion. (11/15p)
