Weiss to UMG

WEISS CHANGES HORSES: As our own I.B. Bad predicted, Barry Weiss has jumped from Sony Music to UMG, the N.Y. Times reported at noon today ET. The long-rumored move was confirmed on Tuesday morning by a spokeswoman at the Weiss-led RCA/Jive Label Group. UMG has not said what role the 51-year-old veteran will fill at the company, but it’s expected that he’ll run its East Coast operations under Lucian Grainge.
