FELA! Nominated for Grammy
MOST HAPPY FELA! The Knitting Factory cast album to the critically acclaimed, Tony Award-winning Broadway musical FELA! has been nominated for a Grammy in the Best Musical Show Album category. Check out a full stream of the album here. The original cast recording features the music of legendary African musician Fela Anikulapo-Kuti from the show, which takes place in a reproduction of the Lagos, Nigeria, nightclub where he would regularly perform. The release is up against show albums from American Idiot, A Little Night Music, Promises, Promises and Sondheim on Broadway for the honor. (12/7p)
